Dhanuraj (Raj) Shetty’s original training and work experience is in plastics engineering and polymer science and he has over 20 years of Corporate and venture philanthropy experience in the healthcare sectors such as biotech, diagnostics, stem cells, medical devices, regenerative medicine, and digital health. Raj has conducted and executed transactions for research collaborations, joint ventures and formation of new companies and has played key role in all aspects of deal cycle including valuation, complex structuring, negotiation of contract and alliance management.

Raj recently was at CARB-X as the Accelerator Lead where he supported  CARB-X funded companies via the Accelerator network for their business and scientific needs  and was also instrumental in creating an operational framework for the Global Accelerator network and bringing together global teams in moving the antimicrobial research field forward. Before joining CARB-X, Raj was the Senior Director of Strategic Alliances and Partnership at The New York Stem Cell Foundation Research Institute and was responsible for managing collaborations and external facing research partnerships. Prior to NYSCF he was at JDRF where he was responsible for research business development roles and industry partnerships and alliances. He also has over twelve years of industry experience, that included his time at KCI (now Allergan) and ten years at Johnson and Johnson where he was leading research programs in the field of Regenerative Medicine.
